Our Sales Manager will serve as the voice of Sales for Spartan. Working under the guidance of our Chief Revenue Officer, this person will set the direction for overall B2B Sales and work to develop new avenues for growth. A strong hunger, the Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting, nurturing and closing new sales with an eye on continued growth. This person will also stay abreast of competitor products and relaying back insight regarding pricing and strategy. Our Sales Manager should display comfort with the sales process, understanding lead times and customer expectations while remaining vigilant and persistent at all times.

Salary parameters for this role are commission driven, with a base salary estimated in the $85,000 to $145,000 range, depending on experience. In addition, we also offer equity participation, full benefits, 401K (with match), and a 4:1 days onsite:WFH option for most roles. This position is based at our company headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA; relocation assistance/fully remote work is not available for this role.

Specific Duties:

  • Under the guidance of our Chief Revenue Officer, set direction for sales and work to develop new avenues for growth
  • Prospect and develop leads through networking, referrals, events, cold-calling, etc.
  • Conduct competitive analysis in order to continuously improve sales strategy
  • Travel as needed to meet and close deals with prospective partners and customers
  • Work closely with Product team to ensure sales strategy is aligned with current deliverables; communicate changes upward and outward as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8-10 years’ overall experience in a customer-facing role within B2B sales
  • Proven expertise in developing leads, cold-calling, negotiating and closing
  • Strong success record in closing record number of sales annually
  • Proficient with Sales tools (such as Salesforce)
  • Exceptional strength in quickly ascertaining customer needs and pivoting sales approach as appropriate
  • Displays fortitude and persistence with proven expertise navigating through challenges to achieve wins
  • Technical understanding strongly preferred
  • Experience selling complex automotive or electronic products strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree/MBA a plus
