For this role, we are seeking an Electrical Engineer who will design and architect the electrical system for the robot encompassing the power system, onboard PCB designs, cable design, and firmware for interacting with embedded devices.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• At least 3 years of industry experience
• Solid EE fundamentals with hands-on experience designing, building, and testing PCBAs and electrical systems.
• Experience with designing power distribution architectures and PCBs.
• Experience working with motors, motor drivers, and servo controllers
• Familiarity with Altium, Autodesk Fusion, or a similar SW in both schematics and layout.
• Experience writing embedded SW for common serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, RS485, etc.)
• Great hands-on electrical prototyping and debugging skills
• Experience in designing cable and cable assemblies
• Experience working with contract manufacturers for fabricating cables
• Experience designing PCBs for large scale production and developing QC processes for PCB

What you’ll do:

• Design and validate PCBA for embedded control and signal processing of physical hardware.
• Implement firmware to communicate with and control actuators and sensors.
• Place orders for PCBAs with vendors and define quality control tests and parameters.
• Set up testing for physical boards.
• Design and procure cables and cable assemblies.
• Perform electrical assembly on robot and define the robot bringup process
• Debug and solve on field electrical issues, which range from electrical noise, faulty components, short circuit, overload etc.
