The fastest-growing High School sport in America isn’t basketball or football—it’s esports—and PlayVS is the official platform for High School esports. We offer an incredible, full-stack esport platform—game integrations, team building tools, leagues, tournaments, and schedules—and our software products tie everything together into a cohesive experience.
PlayVS is on a mission to redefine the future of scholastic Esports. We lead a vibrant and inclusive community that fosters competitive play and sportsmanship while helping students build critical skills to power their future success.
We’re looking for a creative, collaborative, and passionate Digital Media Manager to coordinate our social marketing and communication efforts for our entire community of players, schools, coaches, fans, and partners. You’ll help define how we stand out in an increasingly crowded marketplace, grow and engage our user base, and help drive company messaging and communications. As Digital Media Manager for PlayVS, you’ll be a part of a world-class marketing team with a primary focus on growing awareness and sentiment of the PlayVS brand and engaging with our diverse and growing community.
Here's what you'll get to do:
*Capture and edit short-form video content that can be leveraged for PlayVS digital channels.
*Develop and manage the execution of a comprehensive digital media strategy and effective campaigns that drive highly measurable and memorable engagement and growth amongst the PlayVS community and the broader global esports sector, as well as positive awareness and sentiment of the PlayVS brand.
*Implement social media plans while coordinating daily content calendar projects, including copywriting, asset coordination, and postings to PlayVS-owned channels.
*Construct comprehensive sponsored projects to grow target audiences and increase followership across all PlayVS-owned channels.
*Create and execute social campaigns that drive engagement and conversion for demand generation.
*Work closely with Brand and Content, Live Operations, Partnerships, and Customer Success teams to curate and develop content and company communications.
*Source and manage the output of digital content vendors and contractors.
*Engage with our community, whether they are a coach, a player, a parent, a fan, or a partner, and be versatile in the strategies you bring. Are willing to research and ‘always be testing’ the message strategy.
*Stay in tune with social and digital trends, while providing forward-looking recommendations for PlayVS' competitive edge.
*Track analytics, specifically for our social media channels, to determine growth and interactions and identify actionable insights and return on investment.
Here's what we're looking for:
*Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
*Minimum of 4 years experience managing multiple social media channels at an advertising agency or as part of an in-house marketing or content team.
*Demonstrated experience in managing both high-quality and short-form video content projects.
An excellent communicator with well-developed written and verbal communication skills and an extremely high level of judgment.
*High level of tech savviness – experienced in critical social media platforms (including Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook), web-based creative productivity platforms (Adobe, Figma, Canva, Google Suite + more), and social media tracking and listening tools (ex. Sprout Social or HootSuite).
*Love of storytelling, critical eye for detail, and an ability to quickly learn and understand the PlayVS platform and community.
*Knowledge of audience analytics, audience development, and the ability to understand and learn from data.
*Ability to travel to critical community and industry events. Up to 20% during periods of the year.
Bonus Points for:
*A passion for gaming or familiarity with video gaming/esports culture and personalities is a plus.
