We are looking for an experienced IT Consultant/System Administrator to support a range of high-impact
infrastructure, systems, and security projects across the company. This person will assess our current environment, recommend practical improvements, and execute key initiatives that strengthen our operational readiness, streamline our technology stack, and improve security and access management.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can balance strategy and execution. The ideal
A consultant can quickly audit our current tools and systems, identify risk and inefficiency, and implement scalable solutions that make the company more secure, organized, and operationally mature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the renewal assessment for Slack, including reviewing current usage, auditing
    connected tools and workflows, and making recommendations on contract renewal,
    optimization, and cost effectiveness

  • Audit and help clean up Google Workspace and Slack accounts, including user access,
    permissions, inactive accounts, group structure, and general admin hygiene

  • Assess the company’s current state of IT, systems administration, documentation, and
    controls to help make the business more M&A ready and audit-ready

  • Identify gaps in controls, asset management, access management, documentation, and vendor management, and security practices, and recommend remediation plans

  • Recommend, design, and implement improvements to streamline the company’s tools
    and systems environment

  • Improve company security posture, including implementing or strengthening single sign- on (SSO), identity and access management, device controls, and account
    provisioning/deprovisioning processes

  • Establish simple, intuitive, and scalable user provisioning systems for onboarding,
    offboarding, and role changes

  • Evaluate current tools and reduce unnecessary complexity by consolidating redundant
    platforms where appropriate

  • Recommend, propose, and implement systems for equipment tracking, device
    administration, and core IT asset management

  • Set up and improve internal systems, networks, and technology infrastructure to support business growth and reduce operational friction

  • Create practical documentation, workflows, and standards that improve long-term
    maintainability and operational readiness

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, people, and leadership to prioritize projects and deliver improvements with minimal disruption

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an IT Consultant, IT Manager, Systems Administrator, or
    similar role in a fast-paced company environment

  • Experience managing and optimizing Slack, Google Workspace, identity providers, and
    SaaS tool ecosystems

  • Strong understanding of SSO, identity and access management, provisioning/deprovisioning, and security best practices

  • Experience preparing companies for audits, diligence requests, compliance reviews, or
    M&A-related operational readiness

  • Experience with IT asset management, equipment tracking, endpoint administration, and systems documentation

  • Ability to assess a fragmented environment, set priorities, and implement practical
    solutions quickly

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams at
    once

  • Clear communicator who can explain technical tradeoffs and recommendations to non-
    technical stakeholders

  • Hands-on, resourceful, and comfortable operating both strategically and tactically

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with startups or high-growth companies

  • Experience rationalizing and consolidating SaaS tools

  • Familiarity with security frameworks, audit preparation, or diligence processes

  • Experience implementing endpoint management, MDM, and access governance solutions

  • Experience supporting network setup and office IT infrastructure where needed

Deliverables / Areas of Focus

The consultant will initially focus on the following projects:

  1. Slack Renewal and Systems Audit

    • Audit Slack usage, integrations, and related tools

    • Review contract and provide renewal recommendations

    • Clean up Slack and Google account administration

  2. M&A / Audit Readiness

    • Assess current IT controls, documentation, and systems

    • Identify gaps and provide a readiness plan

    • Help implement priority improvements

  3. Systems Streamlining and Security

    • Recommend and implement improvements to simplify the tool stack

    • Strengthen security, including SSO and access controls

    • Set up intuitive provisioning and deprovisioning workflows

  4. Implement equipment tracking and administration processes

    • Infrastructure and Tool Consolidation

    • Set up additional systems or networks as needed

    • Reduce redundant tools and improve overall efficiency
