THE POSITION

Title: VP, Partnerships

Location: New York or Los Angeles

Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Partnerships is responsible for driving new business across all Mass Appeal verticals, with a particular focus on brand partnerships. This role will lead the development and growth of key partner relationships and will manage Mass Appeal’s sales pipeline and other sales-related operations. The VP will work with senior management to shape the Mass Appeal narrative and product offering for the brand community and bring the story to market. The role will work with the various departments to develop pitches for brand clients and will work with other Mass Appeal divisions (Content, Experiential, Music) to manage brand relationships and present an integrated offering to clients where appropriate.

The successful candidate will bring existing brand relationships to the table for immediate revenue opportunities and will have 7-10+ years’ experience at a digital publisher or creative agency.

Responsibilities

  • Establish deep partnerships with top tier brands that fit Mass Appeal’s ethos
  • Operate with both creative and business focus to drive results while building and properly representing the Mass Appeal brand; this role will require understanding of both creative process and common operational / financial metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leaders to execute across Mass Appeal’s full suite of capabilities
  • Bring personal network to Mass Appeal and work with company to maximize opportunities from its existing network
  • Work with senior management team to develop positioning of Mass Appeal brand and product offerings
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of industry and consumer trends; ensure that Mass Appeal positioning remains ahead of the curve
  • Oversee management of new business pipeline and day-to-day execution of sales-related activities
  • Manage client accounts to build strong recurring revenue base and create potential for “home runs”
  • Work with team members across the company to pursue opportunities generated by their networks
  • Build and maintain sales materials, working with Mass Appeal design team
  • Work with finance and operations teams to develop pipeline management procedures, including relationship & lead management, results tracking and communication

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience, including significant leadership responsibility, in sales at a digital publisher or creative agency
  • Network of brand contacts and potential for immediate revenue opportunities
  • Experience with scaled pipeline management processes
  • A track record of closing new business opportunities and developing new clients into sources of scaled, recurring revenue
