Position Overview

MACRO Media is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to support the financial operations of our film, television, media, and talent representation businesses. This role will be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, maintaining the general ledger in NetSuite, and supporting financial reporting and analysis across the organization.

The Senior Manager will play a key role in leading the monthly and quarterly close processes, maintaining strong accounting controls, and managing the annual audit, serving as a liaison to external auditors. This individual will also partner closely with executive leadership to support FP&A modeling, budgeting, and ad hoc financial analysis. This role will report to the Controller and work closely with the CFO.

The ideal candidate will bring 5-8+ years of accounting experience in film, television, or media with demonstrated ownership of close, audit, and financial reporting in a dynamic / high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee and maintain the general ledger in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and proper account classifications.
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and oversee financial reporting packages for internal leadership, investors, and senior stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls across all accounting processes
  • Lead annual audit process and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, supporting audit requests and documentation

Team Oversight

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including:
  • Accounting / Accounts Payable Clerk
  • Senior Accountant
  • Talent Accounting Assistant
  • Review work performed by staff and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal processes
  • Manage team development and performance reviews

Systems & Process Management

  • Serve as administrator and owner of NetSuite ERP, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability of financial data
  • Oversee integrations between NetSuite and sub-ledger systems, including:
  • Bill.com (accounts payable workflow)
  • InEntertainment (talent payment and management software)
  • Ramp
  • Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and core accounting workflows to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with corporate statutory requirements (e.g., 1099 filings)
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, automation, and reporting capabilities

FP&A & Business Support

  • Drive forecasting and modeling with finance leadership
  • Partner with CFO and other senior leadership on:
  • Budget preparation
  • Financial tracking
  • Ad hoc reporting and performance analysis.
  • Provide insights that support strategic and operational decision-making

Cash & Treasury Reporting

  • Own cash management, including cash reporting and liquidity tracking
  • Lead recurring meetings with management to present cash positions and status

Talent Representation

  • Monitor talent bookings and maintain accurate records within InEntertainment
  • Prepare and maintain data integration to NetSuite
  • Prepare and provide recurring reporting to talent managers and finance, including leading recurring meetings for review
  • Maintain relationships with talent and management

Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in film, television, or media production
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA/Big4 experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite ERP
  • Experience with sub-ledger integrations and accounting workflow tools such as Bill.com
  • Familiarity with production accounting and talent payment systems (e.g., InEntertainment) preferred
  • Experience supporting financial audits and external auditors
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
