Role Description
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Fun.xyz in the New York City Metropolitan Area. You will design and oversee scalable and reliable software solutions supporting web3 checkout and payment systems, ensuring optimal performance, fault tolerance, and availability. Collaborate with frontend and business teams to translate complex business needs into robust technical solutions. While crypto development experience is a plus, it is not required. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds who are fast learners and eager to grow.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field and 2 years of experience as a software engineer (or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field and 4 years of experience as a software engineer).
- 2 years of solid programming experience, specializing in Python, TypeScript, Java, C++, and similar languages.
- Proficiency in backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, and Express.js.
- 2 years of expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Tencent Cloud Platform.
- Advanced usage of version control systems like Git.
- Collaborative work in Agile development environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Good to Have
- Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Proficiency in container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience with system networking, including aspects like TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPN, VPC, subnetting, and routing protocols.
- Experience implementing security practices in both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring and log management tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
- Experience working with various database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB.
- Experience in the design and implementation of microservices-based architectures using technologies like Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS, AWS Lambda, TKE (Tencent Kubernetes Engine), or SCF (Serverless Cloud Function).
- Experience in Blockchain Development, including smart contracts on EVM chains like Ethereum mainnet, Polygon, Base, etc.
- Knowledge of Decentralized Exchange (DEX) development and staking protocols
- Proficiency in Solidity or Vyper for smart contract programming
- Understanding of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) architecture
- Familiarity with smart contract security practices and common vulnerabilities
- Experience with development frameworks and tools such as Truffle, Hardhat, Remix, or Foundry
- Knowledge of deploying and interacting with smart contracts on various testnets and mainnets
- Ability to write, test, and debug smart contracts
- Experience with Layer 2 solutions and sidechains
- Understanding of consensus algorithms like Proof of Work (PoW) and Proof of Stake (PoS)
- Knowledge of cryptographic principles and blockchain fundamentals
- Proficiency in writing automated tests for smart contracts
- Experience with decentralized storage solutions like IPFS
- Familiarity with DeFi protocols and NFT standards
- Understanding of gas optimization techniques
- Knowledge of web3.js or ethers.js for integrating smart contracts with front-end applications
- Familiarity with blockchain governance models and DAOs
- Experience in conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments for smart contracts
Location and Work Environment
This role is primarily in-person at our headquarters in Union Square, New York, NY, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $150,000 - $350,000 annually. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
