About The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Vice President of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering organization. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in blockchain and distributed systems with proven leadership experience, driving both technical excellence and team development. This role reports directly to the executive team and will be instrumental in shaping the future of our platform.

Primary Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for leading our engineering organization through its next phase of growth, focusing on both technical excellence and team development. This includes:
• Strategic Leadership
• Translate business & product objectives into clear technical roadmaps and execution plans
• Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy across the company
• Balance technical debt with feature development and platform stability
• Implement efficient processes that promote transparency and clear communication
• Team Leadership
• Build and scale high-performing engineering teams across distributed and on-site environments
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders and individual contributors
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation
• Establish clear success metrics and career development paths for team members
• Technical Direction
• Guide the evolution of our blockchain-based platform architecture
• Ensure robust security practices across all systems
• Drive technical decisions that balance innovation with practical implementation

Key Requirements

• Leadership Experience
• 10+ years engineering experience with 5+ years in senior leadership
• Proven track record managing and scaling teams of 10+ engineers in payments/crypto
• Experience leading both remote and on-site engineering teams
• Strong history of mentoring and developing engineering talent
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain high-performing engineers
• Technical Expertise
• Deep understanding of blockchain technology and EVM-compatible chains, and non-EVM blockchains (e.g. Cosmos and Solana). Proficiency in smart contract development (Solidity, Rust) and familiarity with token standards (ERC20, ERC721, ERC4337, etc)
• Strong background in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
• Expert knowledge of security best practices for financial systems
• Experience with modern development practices and tooling
• Hands-on capability to contribute across the technical stack when needed
• Proficiency in at least one server-side programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C++) with strong understanding of CI/CD workflows and Cloud IaC. Experience in or certifications for working in AWS, GCP or Azure
• Experience with data pipelining, some basic ETL, SOL/NoSQL databases, and real-time streaming e.g. Kafka, Redis. Also needs to be familiar with data visualization and reporting tools.
