Senior Manager, Accounts Payable & Freight Audit

As Flexport expands its footprint across APAC, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Accounts Payable to lead the region's AP function through this growth. This role is focused on operational excellence and AI-enabled transformation: the ideal candidate combines deep AP domain expertise with the ability to identify, build, and deploy practical automation and agentic AI solutions that materially improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends people management, cross-functional strategy, and technical fluency in AI-driven process design.

You Will

• Drive strategic initiatives from problem definition through execution, stakeholder alignment, measurement, and adoption.
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI-enabled opportunities that improve AP automation growth, operating efficiency, customer experience, and scalability.
• Build, test, and help deploy practical AI agents and agent-based workflows, with a focus on process optimization and measurable business outcomes.
• Provide in-depth analysis and insights to advise senior management and executives when making critical business decisions.
• Partner with executives, senior management, and teams across the organization to gather business requirements, data inputs, and stakeholder context.
• Analyze, track, and measure the impact of launched strategic initiatives.
• Identify and recommend improvements to current processes with a focus on revenue growth, process quality, automation, and execution speed.
• Lead and develop the APAC AP team, ensuring consistent performance management, coaching, and a collaborative team culture across a multi-country footprint.
• Ensure AP operations across all supported APAC markets comply with local tax, invoicing, and statutory requirements as the team scales into new countries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing accounts payable operations in complex or global organizations, with a proven track record of managing and developing teams, driving performance, and fostering a collaborative culture.
• Hands-on experience with AP systems, ERP platforms, and process automation initiatives.
• Experience establishing and maintaining internal controls, compliance frameworks, and process improvements.
• Exposure to cross-functional projects, including finance transformation, system implementations, or operational efficiency programs.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Working knowledge of multiple APAC country tax requirements, invoicing laws, and local accounting practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge as the team expands AP operations into 16 APAC countries.
• Prior experience working directly with AI/automation tooling in a finance or AP context.
• Experience operating in a high-growth, global logistics, freight, or supply chain environment.
• Familiarity with regional payment infrastructure and vendor/carrier payment flows across APAC markets.
