The opportunity:
The role of the Senior Global Operations Associate is a critical part of making Flexport’s mission to make global trade easy for everyone a reality. To achieve this the Global Operations Team is at the heart of delighting our customers, managing our partners and working closely with our technology partners to drive innovation through process automation. With our focus on developing a global network, our operational teams are strategically located across the world to manage and execute our services and products offered to our customers and partners. Flexport Global Operations raises the bar by using data to manage our customer’s supply chains and identifies opportunities to improve fidelity in planning, responsiveness and overall execution.
As a Senior Global Operations Associate assigned to our Air Import Operations team, you will learn to be an expert in setting-up and executing the end-to-end movement of shipments within a regional network. On a day-to-day basis you will coordinate the supply chain operations across air,and/or trucking partners within your region. This role will focus on driving a first in class customer experience by obsessing over quality and on time performance. Lastly, this role will work very closely with peers and supervisors to problem solve.
You will:
- Create a great customer experience by being proactive and utilising the newest technologies.
- You will be the “front line” in ensuring the highest standard of Flexport quality: shipments move “on-time” and exceptions are handled appropriately.
- You will be responsible for ensuring your work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery.
- You will test scalable operational infrastructure and procedures to ensure they are delivering the highest levels of efficiency and productivity for your customers and within our new operational model.
- Seamlessly coordinate day-to-day logistics operations with internal and external partners such as steamship lines, airlines, partners, intermodal and trucking vendors, customs, procurement, and warehousing.
- In a BQI team role, you will focus on improving the accuracy and timeliness of quoting, invoicing, and revenue management.
- Solve client issues quickly and ensure smooth operations at origin and destination and escalate issues as needed.
Adaptive Responsibilities:
- You will help implement operational infrastructure and procedures in the day-to-day workflow, while constantly identifying and executing on opportunities to realize optimal efficiency and productivity.
- You will empower Account Management by participating in feedback loops to ensure client needs are met.
- You will use metrics to spot opportunities to improve and deliver great performance in your role, including data quality and shipment milestone timeliness.
- You will act as a consultant to your regional team, product & engineering and the operations excellence team on supply chain operations.
You should have:
- BA/BS degree (or equivalent qualification), or completed professional training as a forwarding agent.
- 3+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, freight forwarding, logistics, ocean carrier operations, or consulting.
- Fluent in English & Dutch.
- Strong structured communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated time management and commitment management capabilities.
- Ability to develop and follow structured work processes with attention to detail.
- A sense of ownership over work environment, tools, and deliverables.
- Problem-solving skills, including:
- Conducting research to address problems.
- Framing and defining problems clearly to guide resolution.
- Willingness to work 5 days a week in Office.
- Willingness to seek help when necessary, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and work across time zones.
