This role requires advanced English communication skills and Chinese language capability is a strong plus, given the nature of many of our clients and shippers in the region.
Tactical Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a 10–15 person team handling FCL, LCL, buyer’s consolidation, and intermodal shipments.
- Represent Flexport’s value proposition by recommending supply chain solutions to new and existing clients, working closely with internal stakeholders such as: Account Management and Control Tower Service Delivery (CTSD).
- Safeguard the “front line” of quality: ensure processes and metrics are in place to deliver shipments on time, resolve exceptions quickly, and consistently achieve high internal KPIs and SLAs.
- Establish scalable operational infrastructure and procedures that maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for internal and external stakeholders (carriers, vendors, customs, and trucking partners).
Adaptive Responsibilities
- Partner with global and regional management to implement the right metrics, processes, and systems that empower your team to perform at a high level.
- Continuously monitor and optimize cost-to-serve while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across customs, trucking, procurement, and product/engineering teams to ensure operational excellence.
- Create feedback loops with other stakeholders to align operations with evolving client needs.
- Mentor and grow your team’s leadership capabilities, preparing senior associates and team leaders for future responsibilities.

- 7+ years of experience in ocean freight forwarding, supply chain, or logistics operations, with at least 2 years in people leadership.
- Good understanding of customs, carriers practices, and the regional logistics landscape.
Mindset & Skills
- Advanced English (verbal and written) required; Chinese language is a strong plus.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team of 10–15 operators, balancing tactical execution with long-term strategy.
- Strong process orientation with proven ability to design and implement scalable SOPs.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
