About the role

The role

As a BDR, you will open doors for Coval. You will research and reach out to engineering, product, and CX leaders at companies deploying AI voice agents, start conversations that turn into real sales opportunities, and hand qualified meetings to our sales team. You will work closely with our CEO, sales, and partnerships team, and you will help build the outbound playbook from scratch. There is a clear path into an Account Executive role for strong performers.

What you'll do

  • Research and build target account lists across voice AI startups, enterprises deploying AI agents, and contact-center and CX platforms
  • Run personalized multi-channel outbound (email, LinkedIn, phone) to engineering, product, and CX leaders
  • Qualify inbound leads quickly and route them to the right next step
  • Book and run first-touch discovery calls to learn how prospects test and monitor their agents today
  • Hand off qualified opportunities to sales with clear notes on pain, stakeholders, and timeline
  • Keep HubSpot clean and up to date: activities, contacts, deal stages, and next steps
  • Follow up with leads from conferences, webinars, podcasts, and partner events
  • Work with partners on co-marketing and co-sell outreach to shared target accounts
  • Test messaging and sequences, track what works, and share learnings with the team
  • Stay current on the voice AI ecosystem (STT, LLM, TTS, agent platforms) and our competitive landscape

What we're looking for

  • 1–3 years in an SDR/BDR role at a B2B SaaS, dev-tools, or AI company, with a track record of hitting or beating pipeline targets
  • Strong writer who can craft short, specific outreach that technical buyers actually reply to
  • Curiosity about AI and comfort learning technical concepts well enough to hold a credible conversation with engineers
  • Resilient and self-directed: you create your own momentum and don't wait for leads to show up
  • Organized, with good CRM habits and attention to detail
  • Excited to work at an early-stage startup where the playbook is still being written

Nice to have

  • Experience selling to technical buyers (engineering, product, data, or ML teams)
  • Exposure to voice AI, conversational AI, contact center, or CX technology
  • Experience with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Clay, or similar prospecting tools
  • Experience working events and conferences

About Coval

What Coval Does

Coval is the simulation and evaluation platform for voice AI. We help companies answer the question most can't: do their voice agents actually work? Not in a demo. At scale, in production, with real users.

Most teams building voice agents are flying blind. They ship a demo that works, deploy it, and discover weeks later that 40% of conversations are failing. No evaluation infrastructure. No way to catch regressions before users do.

We built Coval because we've seen this movie before. Brooke led evaluation infrastructure at Waymo, where it takes millions of simulated miles before a vehicle touches a public road. Voice agents need the same rigor. Right now, almost nobody has it.

Nine people, backed by YC, closing six-figure enterprise deals with Fortune 500 companies, growing revenue 10x year over year. The space is moving fast. We're at the center of it.

What It's Like Here

We work in-person in SoMa, San Francisco. The office is shoes-off, full of plants, and dog-friendly. We bike, hike, skate, and run half-marathons together.

The team comes from Waymo, Zoox, Apple, and Google. We're hard on our work but never hard on each other. We ship on Sundays because we want to, not because someone told us to. We move at AI speed: what used to take weeks happens in hours.

Our operating principle is "wholesome and unhinged." We are relentless about making things happen, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. If you thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and want to be one of the first people building the sales foundations at a company that's already closing Fortune 500 deals, this is it.

Voice AI is where the market is going. We're already there. This is the best time to join.
