Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Cosmic Labs is hiring a senior full-stack engineer to build the user-facing experience and application layer of our hardware-aware desktop environment and AI copilot for embedded and network engineers.

This role is focused on the upper stack: desktop app, interfaces, APIs, and integration of AI agents into everyday engineering workflows.

• Build and maintain the Spades desktop application (Electron + TypeScript + React)
• Design and implement clean, responsive interfaces
• Integrate AI agents and MCP-style context flows into the product experience
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python to connect hardware, agents, and UI
• Implement real-time visualizations
• Collaborate closely with systems and embedded engineers
• Help define product behavior, UX patterns, and engineering best practices

Strong experience with:

• JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and modern front-end patterns
• Electron or similar desktop frameworks
• Python-based APIs and backend services
• Building developer tools or technically sophisticated user interfaces

Required:

• Experience integrating AI, LLMs, or agent systems into products

Bonus:

• Familiarity with Linux, terminals, or embedded interfaces

• Strong product sense and attention to UX for technical users
• Ability to work across front-end and back-end with a focus on delivering polished experiences
• Motivation to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity startup environment
• Comfort owning large product surfaces end-to-end and iterating quickly with users
• Excitement about extreme agency and building cracked tools with a cracked team
• Highly collaborative

Requirements:

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent (currently pursuing is also acceptable)
• Willingness to work startup hours, in-person (weekends included) at our San Francisco office
• Work authorization in the United States
