About the Role
Chef is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive the successful delivery of projects across our engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of project management skills, the ability to effectively communicate across the company, and technical acumen. This role will play a critical part in making sure our teams operate together to deliver at high velocity and quality for our customers.
In this role, you will:
- Lead execution of development programs from early concept to production
- Partner with engineering, product management, and other departments to ensure the successful delivery of the project scope
- Regularly provide updates to stakeholders across engineering, product management, sales, etc., around project status, timelines, and challenges to ensure alignment across the organization
- Identify project risks and work with stakeholders to understand and implement mitigations
- Refine scope and help cut through noise to keep the team focused on what matters for successful project delivery
- Coordinate software testing and release management to ensure high-quality updates make it to the field on time
- Identify areas for process improvements and develop tools/processes to maximize team productivity
What You Bring:
- BS, MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience managing programs and projects in a dynamic engineering setting
- Prior experience in 1 or more of the following areas: robotics, machine learning, motion planning, controls, computer vision, or IoT devices
- Strong communication and project management skills, and the ability to manage evolving risks in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated track record of shipping complex products and features quickly and with high quality
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of project management tooling (Jira/Asana/Linear/etc) and best practices
- Familiarity with ROS, Python, SQL, or similar is a plus
