POSITION SUMMARY

Human Resources Manager
Location: San Francisco / Bay Area, CA
Compensation: Competitive base salary + bonus, benefits package, flexible workspace arrangement, accrual-free vacation, professional development allowance
Catalyte is seeking a highly motivated HR manager to join our growing team! In this role, you will lead and direct many of the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including onboarding, employee relations, compensation, performance management, HR compliance, and participating in cross-functional projects with other Catalyte leaders.
You will report directly to the CEO and will have many opportunities to continue to grow your operational and strategic HR skills. You will be spending time embedding corporate HR strategy into day-to-day work and providing professional HR guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support and guidance to HR generalist, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive HR questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Respond to HR-related inquiries, questions, and concerns from employees, and provide expert advice and coaching when appropriate.

  • Administer, develop, implement, provide guidance on, and partner with employees and management to communicate various HR procedures, policies, and programs. Train managers and help ensure that managers are adhering to these processes. Respond to related inquiries and questions as needed.

  • Develop and maintain documentation that outlines various HR and operational processes and procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance, including documentation and related processes and reporting.

  • Understand and solicit employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns. Help articulate these needs and concerns to managers and senior leadership.

  • Use feedback to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes.

  • Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and contribute to functional and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Assist with all company culture-building efforts

  • Lead various employee engagement initiatives. Offer solutions and identify initiatives that improve the employee engagement culture.

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on organizational design and employee engagement.

  • Manage employee lifecycle processes, including exits and investigations.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field preferred

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is highly desired

  • Seven years of experience in progressively responsible Human Resources roles

  • Experience in managing projects from initiation to close

  • Must be fully proficient in G-Suite tools.

  • Strong technical skills to include human resources systems implementation

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively work, engage, and resolve conflict positively with people at all levels, including corporate executives

  • Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and adapt quickly to changes in scope and expectations

  • Must be able to work with little direction and handle multiple tasks successfully and simultaneously

  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Workday would be beneficial
