Job Summary:
Blavity Inc. seeks a Senior Business Development Manager to drive revenue and own and manage a book of business and clients for Direct Ad Sales, Experiential, Custom Content, and large brand campaigns for Blavity Media Group. This quota-carrying, client-facing role primarily collaborates with the Ad Operations, Integrated Marketing, and Customer Success teams. The ideal candidate has a passion for results, strong product knowledge, and expert rapport-building skills which will allow them to continually acquire new business.
This position reports directly to the VP, Media Sales.
Responsibilities:
- Sell Blavity Media Products (Direct, Social, Custom Content, Experiential) across our portfolio of sites by presenting our solutions that align with the client’s digital campaign objectives
- Manage the entire sales cycle from finding a potential client to securing a deal
- Conduct research to identify potential clients in the target market
- Reach out to prospects through cold calls, emails and leveraging prior connections
- Respond to inbound inquiries and qualify leads by understanding the prospect’s business needs, budget, and timeline
- Follow up with prospects to maintain engagement and cultivate relationships
- Lead the negotiation process by leveraging financial models to illustrate potential ad revenue and offering strategic alternatives that serve to maintain mutually beneficial terms
- Schedule and execute virtual and in-person meetings with potential and existing clients to build meaningful client relationships
- Meet or exceed quarterly revenue goals by closing net new business and growing existing accounts
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success and Sales Operations on active campaigns to ensure healthy relationships and that billing needs are met
- Maintain pipeline updates and accurate opportunity tracking from early stage to late stage in Salesforce and other platforms; manage and communicate key needs to cross-discipline leads; stay on the pulse of all new media business generation
- Collaborate with and coach sales planners in designing impactful sales strategies
- Ideate with integrated marketing campaigns and work with media planners to set strategies for hitting client goals
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent preferred
- Required Experience:
- 3-5+ years proven track record in carrying a $4M+ quota within Brand and Media Agency Sales
- An existing book of business
- Technologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Salesforce
- Additional Qualifications:
- A strong understanding of online advertising (e.g. Direct, Social), related technologies (e.g. Google Ad Manager, DCM), and advertising nomenclature (e.g. targeting, viewability, etc.)
- Experience at a fast-growing startup, large consumer Internet/eCommerce, Ad Tech, or Digital Media company
- High-energy, company-first, positive attitude
- Motivation to work hard in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
Details:
- This is a fully remote, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Candidates must be available to work at least 50% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone.
- The annual salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000.
